iWelcome at 'Security by Design' meetup

On Tuesday the 30th of May iWelcome was speaking at the Security by Design meetup in L’Atelier Café in Cluj-Napoca, where the main development centre for iWelcome is located.

Security and GDPR

Security and data privacy has always been a challenge for businesses but has recently become one of their predominant concerns. With the inception of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) next year, companies face more constraints on managing their data security, including how these constraints apply to software development practices.

iWelcome, along with its partners Tirasa and Unloq, hosted a meetup for the local software developer community about Security by Design, a design philosophy where systems are designed to be secure from the ground up. Francesco Chicchiricco, founder of Tirasa and a member of the Apache Software Foundation, spoke about the Syncope Apache project for Identity Governance in a cloud landscape. He was followed by Adrian Bunta, co-founder and CTO of Unloq, who briefed attendees about application security design practices. The last speaker was iWelcome Devops Engineer Ovidiu Grebenisan, who talked about having a secure continuous infrastructure in place through automation, using Ansible and Molecule.

It was a great meetup with great people in a wonderful place where iWelcome, Unloq, and Tirasa are committed to share knowledge within the developer community.
