Build trusted relationships with Consent
GDPR kicked in months ago yet recent research shows that 33.7% of large European organisations is uncompliant across the board when it comes to GDPR. Organisations that do have some requirements in place are mainly focusing on the basics, while more complicated issues as 'consent' and 'privacy by default' stay behind.
Consent is considered a major theme in GDPR and a serious challenge for most organisations. This consent needs to be given by end-users for the processing of personal data (unless one of the exemptions of article 6 applies). It needs to be “freely given, specific, informed and unambiguously”. Un-what? a difficult word to say: crystal clear. As an organisation, you have to be clear what you are using an individual’s personal data for, the individual needs to be well-informed about it and decisions must be made freely.
