The insurance Industry and iWelcome have proven to be a very good fit in the past. This week, another main Dutch player, Utrecht based insurer a.s.r., signed a contract with iWelcome. The Customer Identity Platform of iWelcome will be the foundation for the 1.5 million consumers and business partners accessing a.s.r.’s digital services.
With 3.500 employees and a revenue of € 3.9 billion in 2017, a.s.r. is one of the largest insurers in the Netherlands. a.s.r. offers products and services in the fields of insurance, pensions and banking to consumers and SMEs via the labels a.s.r., De Amersfoortse, Ditzo, Ardanta and Europeesche Verzekeringen. In addition, a.s.r. is active as an asset manager for third parties, mainly in the public sector.
Marco Venuti, VP Product at iWelcome, states: “We see that insurance companies often encounter the same digital challenges; frictionless customer journeys across brands and products, risk-based and step-up authentication, integration with in-country identity providers (like IDIN, Verimi, France Connect and eHerkenning), delegated user management for agents, API-based integrations, customer journeys starting in price-comparison sites, standards based support (OIDC, SAML, SCIM) and protecting customer privacy with fine-grained consent and data subject access requests according to GDPR. The iWelcome platform is designed to offer the foundation for addressing these challenges.”
