Jr. Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Cluj-Napoca

iWelcome is looking for a Jr. Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Romania. As a Jr.Infrastructure Engineer you will work closely with our product owners, software engineers, testers and customer success team. In this role you will be managing and enhancing our production, staging and development environments of our platform. You will focus on continuous delivery, security, backup, high-availability and system monitoring. But also create and maintain operational documentation related to deployment, management and administrative processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, maintain and make use of automation scripts and flows that ensure the deployment and configuration of our cloud environments;
• Tenant infrastructure maintenance and monitoring;
• Active involvement in infrastructure development processes (pair work, code reviewing, code testing);
• Develop and maintain internal workflows and technologies used by other teams (DevOps tools);
• Participation in On-Call rotation for infrastructure OOH support.

Our new Jr. Infrastructure Engineer

• Has 1+ years of experience with Linux (Debian or Red Hat) and web application management and configuration;
• Is comfortable with writing scripts (Bash, Python, Groovy, etc.);
• Has experience working with a VCS (Git, Subversion, etc.);
• Has had exposure to Docker (or other forms of containerised virtualisation) and has (at least) basic operational knowledge;
• Has experience with monitoring systems (Zabbix, Nagios, Icinga, etc.);
• Has had exposure to configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.);
• Is familiar and comfortable with DevOps practices and ideologies, working closely with people involved in other disciplines and documenting his/her work;
• Is eager to learn and actively participate and contribute to the team effort.
